As part of your career reinvention process, it is likely that you'll need to take some classes in order to learn new skills or explore new areas of interest. What if some of those courses were developed by such esteemed institutions as Berkeley, Tufts, MIT or Hopkins? And what if you could "attend" those classes without having to retake your SAT's or pay a dime of tuition?
Well, thanks to the Open Courseware Consortium, you can.
The OpenCourseWare Consortium is a collaboration of more than 200 higher education institutions and associated organizations from around the world who have created an online portal of open educational content that anyone can use. You can access class notes, slides, videos and recommended reading lists. All for free.Of course, you don't get credit for the classes and you don't get access to the professors. But, it still is a pretty impressive offering, especially when you consider the reputations of many of the participating institutions. Take a look -- you'll be impressed.
